2016 Marketing Predictions: Dennis Owen

Dennis Owen is the Group Manager for Social Media at Cathay Pacific Airways. Having spent close to 30 years with the brand, Owen has an understanding of exactly what it means to live a #lifewelltraveled. In his current role, he’s tasked with understanding how social media is evolving as a discipline, and incorporating that into Cathay Pacific’s global footprint.

Social media is constantly and rapidly changing how companies do business. It is not just about marketing or corporate communications anymore. Social media touches many more departments within companies, such as sales, HR, operations, customer relations, and more. Social media is about two way communications, both internally within Cathay Pacific as well as externally with our customers and partners.

With a multifaceted background in the aviation/travel industry, we’re excited to have Dennis Owen as a part of our 2016 Marketing Predictions. Here’s a look at what he is focused on with his team in the New Year.

“2016 will be the year that brands really start to dive more into the live video stream arena around events via tools like Periscope, Meerkat and perhaps the new Facebook feature as it opens up to a broader audience.

So far it’s mostly been individual people stepping into these platforms but brands will begin to effectively learn how to use this space to promote themselves and get meaningful “real time” feedback around new products and services offered.”
