Crowdly Shows Brand Love

Here at Crowdly, we talk a lot about brand advocacy and brand love. Since it’s such a common subject at the office, we started to wonder what brands our people advocate for. We gave our team two stipulations:

  1. They must not be a current client
  2. They must be a brand with over 100,000 Facebook likes

What brands do we recommend to our peers? Engage with? Drive? Wear? Buy? Love? We found that while we have range of tastes, there is one major similarity: all these brands make us feel something. Whether that be important, adventurous, attractive or nostalgic, each brand connects to us in a way that move us beyond like and into love.

Here’s a look at the brands we love and the reasons we love them.

“Given the choice, I always fly JetBlue. Not only are the planes and routes good, but on the rare occasion they let me down, they always make up for it.”

“They knit cities together by getting people where they want to go while making friends along the way. Check out some amazing stories here.”

“Leading the charge into the Sharing Economy, they’ve popularized the good thing that was CouchSurfing, and made it self-sustaining and mainstream. The quality of the people I’ve met while using AirBnB has widened my world and my trust in humanity.”

“They respond in a very thoughtful and personal manner to their fans (happy or sad fans for that matter) and they put out great content that not only brings new gear to my attention but highlights cool places to go, outdoor hacks, and other travel/outdoor tips.”

“Misfit Shine is a great, simple, and refreshing take on what has historically been a little more of a complex product from other brands. It’s beautiful both in visual aesthetic and in usability and has been a conversation starter everywhere I go. Since I started using it, I even find myself parking far away just to get my steps in. Their attention to customers and community is something that makes them stand out in my experience and I’ve been very impressed.”

“GoPro taps into lifestyle so well and they’ve done an amazing job bringing beautiful quality video to the masses. Being able to really capture an experience that even comes close to what it felt like to actually be there is extremely difficult, but GoPro really comes the closest out of anything else out there. Awesome product. I wish I designed it!”

“I’m a proud owner of a 2003 Subaru Baja.  Having owned my car for over 10 years now, it’s still going strong and has gone through thick and thin, leading to more stories than I can count.  It’s the most functional, quirky, and reliable car I could ask for.  My experience with the Baja has made me a Subaru customer for life.  I’m actually now in the market for a Subaru Crosstrek!”

I’m from Southern California, and having moved around from the West Coast to the East, from Vancouver to Boston… I always have Vans on my feet.  I grew up wearing the slip ons that I still wear today, and am pretty sure I won’t be changing that anytime soon. Vans will always remind me of home.

“I’m obsessed with the Levis brand and their product.  They are absolutely the only pair of jeans I’ll wear  (I’m a 504 guy).  I really appreciate how grounded they remain as a brand, especially as the world of fashion and style are continuously changing.  They stay true to their roots, and deliver an awesome product.”

“I love Cherry Coke.  I’m pretty sure that me and Warren Buffet are the biggest Cherry Coke advocates out there.”

“They’re the most social brand in the world and it’s not even close.  I’d argue that alongside ESPN, WWE might product the most digital content in the world as well.”

“I LOVE AMC Theaters—especially their AMC Stubs program.  I probably go to the movies 3-5 times per month and it’s always an AMC.  Don’t ever stop selling Cherry Coke at AMC!”

“J.Crew has my heart. There’s no more reliable retailer when it comes to wardrobe staples and their products consistently last. On top of that, they do a great job of rewarding their card members with heavy discounts, fast shipping and excellent customer service. J.Crew is a classy brand all around.”

“I’ve been the proud owner of a Jeep Grand Cherokee for ten years and close to 200,000 miles and will probably get another when she finally goes. Jeep is a more than a car brand, it’s a lifestyle brand that resonates with multiple generations of consumers. The Jeep community reflects that, with spin-off companies that succeed off the pure passion of owners.  The fact that it’s a fun car to drive and at a reasonable price point is just the icing on the cake.”

“Is there a cooler brand out there than Warby right now? By combining a great product with an attractive look and awesome content, they’ve made it cool to wear glasses. On top of that, they look like they’re having a lot of fun showing their products off to the world.”

“They’ve got everything, so I can trust them as my default go-to for whatever comes to mind, and feel like I can quickly get a curated list of options, and unbiased ratings that give me confidence that I’m making a smart buy. A sign I might be addicted, I just bought lumber through Amazon.”

Despite being deployed across several varying industries and offerings from music to airlines, the Virgin brand still keeps a cohesive promise to it’s loyalists. It competes in largely commoditized fields with a promise that the individual will be respected and the experience can be delightful. From how you board a plane to how you pay your mobile bill, you don’t feel the patchwork of competing corporate interests, the company solves for the needs of their users first, and threads that through every point of contact.

“The first car I ever bought  was 11 years older than me. A triple black 1965 Ford Galaxie XL Convertible. 6.5 feet wide, 17.5 feet long, with 510 horsepower to power this mobile living room around the coastal roads of Southern California with my surfboard wedged in the back. Several cars and more than a decade later, I’m more likely spending my Saturdays navigating the five year old birthday circuit of suburban Boston. My Ford Flex doesn’t quite hang a long board out the back, but it does comfortably fit a tandem stroller for newborn twins and all the gear for a fun weekend beach trip to the Cape. While turning the engine on doesn’t set off car alarms anymore, it’s unique style and uber-functional engineering makes me feel like I didn’t have to trade in all my cool points and consign myself to a minivan.”
